Our "Guys"

Meet our furry family! They make our life better in every way.

In January 2017 we were lucky enough to add BUBBA to our Wheaten family. We had purchased his son Ranger as a puppy, but when Ranger was only about 8 months old and well before breeding age we needed to retire one of our males.  So we inquired about Bubba and had the good fortune to be able to bring him home.  I took a few pictures of him the evening we got him, but they really didn't do him justice, so I took some more outside last Fall.  They still don't show him as good as he actually looks.  He has a fabulous disposition and has been siring gorgeous puppies out of our pick of the litter daughters of Dylan.  Since we had Bubba, we traded Ranger back to his breeder when he was about 2 years old and got a pick of his first litter daughter SISSY out of his first litter to replace him.

In January 2017 we also added another beautiful male puppy GAVIN to our family since we knew it would soon be time to retire Dylan.  We'd been waiting for him for over two years.  He is very very smart, and is another outstanding addition to our family.  We brought him in the house when we got him at 8 weeks old, intending to just train him a bit before he got moved to the kennel.  He did so well on house training, and is so special and well behaved, we decided he is staying in the house as our house dog.  As of this writing, he has bred his first two females, and yet still retained his exceptional house manners, no marking of any kind, and absolutely will not potty in the house.  Very excited about the puppies in his first litters.  Gorgeous! We will be keeping daughters of Jessie and Jaycee out of him.

Our senior sire was DYLAN until June 2018.  Dylan is now retired because we've held back several of his daughters and granddaughters to carry on for him. He is father to our girls Annie, Darcy, Jordan, Jaycee, Remi & Shooter.  He has been neutered and we adopted him out to a special final forever home.  That was super hard on us, but because we love him so much we knew he deserved a special home where he could be the center of attention.  After meeting Gale and spending time together with her and Dylan, we knew she would love him as much as we do.  And we could tell that Dylan was infatuated with her immediately.  I've moved his information to his own page, listed under the drop down menu for the OUR WHEATENS heading.  (I added pictures of his new home that I found online after getting her address for the paperwork and transfer.  I have blurred out any identification of the building and won't tell the address for her privacy, but I had to show the luxury retirement he has and so deserves.) They are a perfect pair and Gale updated us that Dylan adapted right over to city living!

We are very proud of our furry family. They all have wonderful dispositions and are gorgeous. Pictures of them can be seen below.

"Gavin"

SIRE:  Benjamin 10
DAM:  Sarah's Pip Squeak
This gorgeous boy is Gavin and is our newest addition. We waited for him for over 2 years. Thank you Denise! He is everything we've been looking for in a new stud dog. He's super smart, exceptionally loving, and has a stunning hair coat with excellent size and confirmation. He is unrelated to any of our girls, so he'll make an excellent cross to hold back daughters for our future generations.

He has more pictures than the others because he is also our house dog. We had intended for him to go to the kennel when he was 7 or 8 months old, but he is such a great dog, so loving and fun, we couldn't bear having him go outside he got to stay inside. Even after becoming a breeding male in April 2018, he retained his excellent house manners.

Disterhaupts Bubba
"Bubba"

SIRE:  Charlie IX
DAM:  Walnut Creek Wag
We were able to add this beautiful boy to our family in January 2017.  He is the sire to our former boy Ranger listed below.  He has already been an excellent sire for us so far, the best is yet to come!  He has a gorgeous hair coat, lovely confirmation and a deluxe disposition with a kind gentle manner.  He has been siring a few darker Wheaten colors like Ranger.  They are actually born a lighter amber reddish brown and yet they stay darker than most of those born just dark brown which tend to end up very light.

So far, we've kept his daughter Cimmi out of our girl CJ.

Westwind's Texas Ranger
"Ranger"

SIRE:  Disterhaupts Bubba
DAM:  Disterhaupts Kali
This is our boy Ranger.  We waited for this little guy since Sept 2015 and we just got to bring him home July 12, 2016.  We needed to add new bloodlines and had to wait for a breeder quality puppy. He is very smart and very handsome.  Love his conformation and hair color.  He ended up shedding out to the darker Wheaten color.  Most or our girls are lighter colored, so we are hoping to get some of this coloration in our lines.  In his newest pictures, he was excited and panting so his beard is all wet.  He has such a pretty face when his beard is dry!  But look at his stunning Wheaten color and fabulous soft hair coat.  We can't wait to see the puppies he sires!
In January 2017, when Ranger was about 8 months old, we were able to purchase his sire Bubba, so we never got around to using Ranger as a stud.  In January 2017 we also finally got our youngest male GAVIN, that we had waited over 2 years for.
UPDATE JUNE 2018:  Since we have his sire Bubba, and also our boy Gavin, we traded him back to his breeder who was in need of a new breeding male.  We got a future pick of the litter daughter in return, SISSY.

we no longer own Ranger, shown as a
reference for the color Bubba can sire
